Lynn is a member of the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier Club of America, Inc. We value our reputation as reputable Hobby Breeders. We don't breed for show or pet quality. We breed for health and temperament.
All of the dogs shown in the pictures below either live with us, namely Emma, Randee, Joshua, Pooka, Lulu , Roxie,and Monet are the result of our breeding and have been carefully placed in what we consider "good" homes. Of the 7 named dogs, 6 are AKC Champions. Roxie is our newest AKC Champion.
Before buying a puppy from any breeder, make sure they have explained the kidney problem, known as PLE/PLN to you. It is a life threatening problem. All Wheatens are susceptible to it. About 15-20% will have the problem. On average, it hits between the age of 4-6 years old.
Before breeding, both the Sire & Dam should have verified PLE/PLN free immediate backgrounds, although this is not a guarantee that one of their puppies will not come down with it. Both the Sire & Dam should be OFA & Cerf tested. (Hips & Eyes). They are given numbered certificates if they pass. If they don't have these certificates for both the Sire & Dam, that is a red flag. Both the Sire & Dam should have a full blood panel done, including a urine pro-creatine ratio, before breeding. Both should be tested for venereal disease in the blood. Both should have excellent, stable temperments. Most reputable breeders don't have the stud dog on the premises. If the stud dog is on the premises, that should be a red flag until you can verify the pedigrees. The above is a minimum. Many good breeders go beyond the above to insure a healthy litter.
